The nEUSpaper is the annual student newspaper produced by the UBC Engineering Student Society (EUS). As the VP Communications of the society for the 2012-2013 academic year, I worked on this last summer with 2 amazing journalists that I hired. We wrote 10 articles together, including interviews and event coverage. It was a great learning experience for me, especially getting into contact with local printing companies.
The most fun part (for me at least) was putting it all together with InDesign. I trained the journalists to use InDesign and let them decide on the template. We decided to make it colourful and attractive so that people will actually read them. This is a major concern because the paper is targeted toward the new first years, and they often get bombarded with ridiculous amounts of information and advertisements on the first week or school.
