My name is Alisa Yao.  I am a product designer based in Coquitlam, BC. I graduated with a D.Bes Product Design from the Wilson School of Design at KPU in 2018. An innovator and entrepreneur at heart, I believe good product design does not compromise function, aesthetics, or sustainability.

Since 2016, I have committed myself to a zero-waste lifestyle, so I strive to minimise the waste that I produce at home and in my design practices. I started an online store where I design and make products from rescued materials to encourage people to shop more consciously. My reusable products create no waste during production since everything is used – even the scraps. By creating sustainable alternatives, I aim to reduce our dependence on single-use plastics.
