My name is Alisa Yao.  I am a 4th year Product Design student studying at the Wilson School of Design at KPU. I am interested in design research and prototype R&D. An innovator and entrepreneur at heart, I believe good product design does not compromise function, aesthetics, or sustainability. I learn by making.

In 2016, I have committed myself to a zero-waste lifestyle, so I strive to minimise the waste that I produce at home and in my design practices. I started an online store where I design and make products from rescued materials to encourage people to shop more consciously. I hope that by making environmentally-friendly alternatives more widely available, accessible, and more appealing, I can encourage more people to switch over to this lifestyle.
